Shannon Gilliland joined the Hinkle + Landers team in 2007 after graduating as Valedictorian of her class at the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School, where she earned her Master of Accounting degree. Previously, she had obtained a B.S. and an M.S. in social work from the University of Texas at Austin.

 

Shannon is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants (NMSCPA). She attends the New Mexico State Auditor Rule meetings every year and keeps consistently up to date by attending GASB and SAS seminars, Government Auditing Standards seminars, and Internal Control Considerations of Government Entities and Form 990 seminars. Shannon also serves as the Treasurer over all the PTA organizations in the state of New Mexico.

 

With experience in providing audits, consulting and other assurance to a wide variety of not-for-profits organizations, commercial entities, state, county, and municipal and other government agencies, educational institutions, tribal governments, homeowners’ associations, employee benefit plans, health centers and churches.

 

Shannon specializes in performing audits, consulting and other assurance for clients such as not-for-profits organizations, commercial entities, state, county, and municipal and other government agencies, federally qualified health centers educational institutions, , homeowners’ associations, and private foundations.

 

In addition to her experience in accounting, she has had five years of experience as a Project Manager for a global market research firm, as well as three years serving as Coordinator of a statewide research project for The University of Texas.
